I love to cuddle with my human and getting my back and tummy scratched.  I also like long walks  and I play nice with one or two other dogs (too many small dogs scare me)!  I know basic commands (sit, down).  I prefer to lay around the house when you are not home and I am house-trained, so I won't "go" in the house.  I am an older dog, but still have a whole lot of love to give that special someone.  Is that you?

Answers to questions:

  • Fang is house-trained and is unrestrained in one room during the day.  The only "accident" was due to eating a plant in the backyard that disagreed with him.  Fang shares the room with another unrestrained neutered male dog for approximately 10 hours per day.
  • Fang keeps himself clean and doesn't really like to be bathed / sprayed with water.  He is brushed for a few minutes each morning or afternoon to avoid shedding.
  • Fang has been introduced to cats when being groomed. The cats were loose in the grooming salon and he acknowledged them without incident. When outside, he wants to chase them.
  • Fang barks when strangers approach the door, but has shown no aggression.  Fang does "mouth" when he wants something.  Best in a home with no children under 10 years old.
  • Fang HATES being grabbed by his collar!  This is the ONLY time he bites - based on his reaction, someone may have tried to choke him.
  • Fang sleeps on the floor in my bedroom.  We have a toddler mattress with a comforter that he likes.
  • Fang is walked for about 15-20 minutes in the morning and 15-20 minutes in the evening.  He is also in the backyard with other dogs (different ages, sizes and breeds) for about an hour each evening during the week.  Weekends are way more fun!
  • Fang eats a grain-free diet including Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Cost of dog food is approximately $50 per month.
  • Fang is an older dog with some hip problems/arthritis.  Pain is currently managed with a daily dose of Novox at a cost of approximately $50 per month.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues.
