This little fellow showed up at my doorstep filthy and shaking in June 2016! We took him in and gave him a bath and some love. Tater Tot was immediately very friendly. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, and he instantly got along great with them all. He has a fun personality and loves human attention. He loves to lay right next to you and once you start to pet him, he starts flailing around trying to roll over so you can rub his belly. He is not aggressive or mean; he never growls or barks. The only time he makes noises, are when he is falling asleep or when he is grunting/coughing (he has some congestion).
After taking him to the vet, we were told that Tater Tot does have a tumor in his abdomen area. (He was wrong thought- he has a hernia). He also has cataracts in both eyes. He tested negative for worms including heartworms! Also, I have managed to get rid of all the fleas he showed up to my house with. Tater Tot is approximately 8-9 years old.
After a pre-surgery vet appointment, it was discovered that Tater Tot does not have a tumor, but instead a hearnia. He is having surgery tomorrow (10/13/2016) to correct the issue.
Tater Tot is mostly potty trained, and I am working with him to become completely potty trained. He usually goes outside with my other dogs, but on occasion, he does have an accident in the house. I think his hernia may be contributing to his occasional accidents as it is pushing on his little bladder.
This precious baby is so lovable! He has a very funny personality and has brought me lots of smiles already.
*UPDATE- Tater Tot does have a yeast infection on his skin. He is now on a grain free diet to help. Since switching his diet, he has shown progress already in the past 3 weeks.
*UPDATE on Yeast Infection* He is now on an antibiotic and and medicated shampoo. After just 1 week, his skin is already showing so much improvement.
