Jackie really is one of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet. She is a total lover and loves to cuddle all the time. She loves her foster brother and sister and cuddles with her foster on the couch for hours at a time. She's house trained, crate trained and knows simple commands.

When she was found, she had been hit by a car, but she was cleared by vets. She still has a small limp in her front leg (her x--ray was negative when found), but it doesn't limit what she's able to do in the slightest. She plays with other dogs and runs around like nothing is wrong. She does well with a mile-long walk and several outings into the backyard, but she can definitely handle a much more active lifestyle.

She is great with other dogs, but she occasionally doesn't get along with other female dogs, especially alpha females. Jackie herself isn't very alpha, but she doesn't like having another alpha female dominate her. She can have a tendency to get jealous when attention is being paid to another animal, but she just has an uncanny ability to work her head into your hand!

Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
