Chloe is a wonderful dog.  She is so happy to be in a loving environment with another large breed dog.  She loves to play and wrestle with her foster siblings.  She is sweet and gentle with our two boys (as much as is practical given her size - our boys are 5 & 8 and love her).  She loves playing with toys and chewing on antlers.

Her heart is as big as she is. She is a mastiff so drool is part of the deal, however, for a mastiff she is more dry than most.  Primarily has major drool after drinking water and when stimulated (first few days in our home she produced more slobber).  She is not able to be in a home with cats or other free roaming non dog animals (ex. ferrets, bunnies, birds etc.).  Her hunting instincts take over and she becomes hyper focused.  As a rule, mastiffs who have not settled into adulthood (aka, become lazy) are not great for households with anyone who isn't steady on their feet as Mastiffs will walk past and push against people unaware of their size.

She is great in the crate, which, out of necessity is enormous (dogs should always be able to stand up and turn around easily in a crate for it to be properly sized).  We cover her crate with a sheet and she settles down to sleep easily.

She knows her name, "no" and sit.  She will come when called and can walk on the leash, but will pull a bit out of excitement, we utilize a gentle leader.  She cannot be left outside for extended periods, she will cry. Was neglected in her previous home, left outside 24/7.

Chloe will thrive in an active, loving home with kids to cuddle and a family that will dote on her.  Preferably a home with someone home during a portion of the day or a large breed dog sibling to play with.  She has dominant female personality.

The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.

Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
