Shimmer is a Vizla / lab mix. Her estimated DOB is 10/8/09. Shimmer got her name because of her beautiful shimmering golden brown coat and her pretty gold eyes that match! She also has the cutest little brown nose!

Shimmer is very energetic and loves to run around the yard and play with balls and rope toys. She loves kids and has gotten pretty good at fetching a toy. But she also loves to be petted and loved on! She is able to jump very high - even straight up in the air - so a high sturdy fence is necessary. She can be an escape artist if left outside for long periods of time unsupervised so she needs to be crated safely inside when you are not at home. In fact, she prefers to be crated when no one is at home because it makes her feel secure. She is fine with other dogs and is usually outside with a dog about her size. She is ok with cats and doesn't get excited when they walk by her crate, but she is quite interested in them when she is loose in the house. She enjoys riding in the car and will hitch a ride anytime!  Shimmer is crate trained and housetrained. If you are looking for a dog who is worth her weight in gold...then Shimmer is the girl for you!

Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
