Marley is one lucky survivor! Not only did he cheat death (rescued hours before being euthanized), but succesfully beat mange.
He is eager to find a loving, caring, and furever home before Christmas.
Houston, Save Lives is our Mission, a rescue organization in Houston, posted the picture of a 1 month old furless Lab/Retriever taken at Harris County Animal Shelter about 1 month ago. The puppy was found as a stray and brought in to the shelter by animal control, and due to his extended skin condition (mange), the shelter was only going to hold him for 72 hours (given by law to give his "owners" to chance to claim him) and then PTS (put to sleep). We all know that ill and injured dogs brought into shelters are only held that long before being euthanized; they are considered unadoptable. So the rescue org was desperetly looking for someone to save him; hours before his sentence AARF approved his rescue and Cristina jumped in and here he is today! All his fur is back, 100% healthy, and is the smart and silly playfull Retiever mix you can expect to be.
Please contact Vicky at info@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog or to schedule a meet and greet. You can apply online by clicking on Application. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!

The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.
Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.
It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.
AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
