Ridge is just a baby about 10-11 months old. He was dumped in a public park to fend for himself or die. A good samaritan picked him up and brought him to us. We did not have a foster spot available for him, so he had to go to boarding until a spot opened up.
He is still in boarding over 1 month later. Boarding is not the best place for a young, active puppy that craves attention from people.
Ridge is a loving, smart, eager to please young man who would love to be your running partner or just cuddle up on the couch and watch TV.

for more information about this dog or to schedule a meet and greet. You can apply online at www.aarfhouston.org/forms. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!
If you are not sure about making a lifetime commitment to Ridge, how about fostering him. He is stuck in boarding because we do not have a foster available. Normally we would not take in a dog without a foster but we could not leave him at the park where he could be run over or worse picked up for the wrong reasons. You could even start out as a temporary foster for 2 weeks. If it works out, great you can continue to foster. If it does not work out, you have at least given him 2 weeks out of the vets office with all of the smells, noise, confusion and other animals crying in pain. To foster Ridge, please complete our foster application at www.aarfhouston.org/forms.

The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.
Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.
It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.
AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
