Cassie - Black Lab rescued from a life of abuse at the hand of her owner who thought that beating her would make her better protection for his property. Cassie and Rex were rescued when the owner decided he would close the store and just abandon the two dogs that he mistreated for two years.
Cassie has the heart of a Lab. She knew when she was rescued that she was going to be ok. She immediately showed rescuer where her she hid her babies and made sure all seven pups were safe. Cassie has a loving gentle personality.
Heart worm positive, she is being treated. Cassie will need a loving hand to show her life isn't as bad as she thought. Already responding to her foster - It would be wonderful if Cassie and Rex should be adopted together - they protected each other and their pups against all odds.

The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.
Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.
It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.
