Baby girl is the sweetest dog I have ever met. We are guessing she is 8 years old but looks much older but she doesn't show it in her spirit. Someone along the way took the time to train her. She knows how to sit, catch, fetch, shake, stay, she will eat on her own but seems to prefer when you offer it to her, she can catch food in her mouth, and uses her kennel even though we have never closed it. she is potty trained and understands the words lets go potty. She was picked up off the streets of Houston and was pregnant, tested positive for heart worms, and has mammary tumors. She has since had her six furbabies with one going to heaven. She is always full of life and has happy feet with everyone she meets. She does great around my dogs (big and small) and was originally kept with cats and did fine with them. She possibly may be food sensitive, not with humans but with other dogs.

Now that her pups are born, she can begin her heart worm treatment!  Once recovered from that, she will have surgery/biopsies for the 2 mammary tumors.

*update* baby girl will start heartworm treatment next week!!!

First heart worm Tx given 2-12-14 .She is holding her own , lots of ups and downs with this treatment. The next  tx in 30 days and then NO MORE HEART WORMS :) Baby Girl has been adopted by Pat Mora and will go to her forever home 2-26-14. Pat has been making regular visits  to my house to spend time with Baby Girl . She will receive a full dental with teeth root removal , a spay , tumor removal and ear surgery in the months to come. Blood work looks great and we are thinking bliss as a happy ending for Baby Girl . I will keep you update as time goes on . 2-18-14 CT

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
