Hildie (now HARLEY), through no fault of her own, was returned. She is a huge cuddle bug that knows how to sit, wait for her food and walks well on a leash. Hildie is looking for a REAL forever home now!
*HILDIE & HER SIBLINGS ARE
PARVO SURVIVORS!
While in foster care, 9 of the 10 puppies (1 adopted prior to illness and never succumbed to the virus) were diagnosed with parvo. If you are unfamiliar with this, I urge you to research it. Most parvo puppies either die from the virus, or are put to sleep due to high hospitalization costs at the vet. The foster chose to attempt home treatment and all 9 pups made a miraculous recovery. Check out the video documentary of the care they received. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqP8YNscayc
Hildie is a playful girl with lots of love to give!
Her mom (Sadie) was found at 8 months old with a younger male companion. Sadie was already pregnant and about to deliver when turned in to AARF Houston. Sadie is a beautiful girl we believe that she is Shepherd/Hound mix, but she is young and it is difficult to tell.
Due to complications, Sadie had to have an emergency c-section. One puppy did not make it, but his 10 siblings are doing well!
Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog or to schedule a meet and greet. You can apply online by clicking on Application. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!

The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.
Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.
It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.
AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
