She is learning to sit and walks on a leash. She is potty trained and uses a doggy door. Tammy has a heart of gold. She is gentle, loving, and just wants to be someone's best friend forever. Come see her at one of our adoption event.
Tammys story:
Tammy was dumped with her sister in Melrose Park. They were taken to a vet and put in boarding until a foster and a rescue could be found. A new foster filled out an application and she was excepted into Adopt A Rescue Friend. Both sisters left with the new foster. As two weeks went by aarf tried multiple times to see the dogs till finally receiving a message that the dogs had died after drinking antifreeze. Several AARF and Melrose Park dogs members got together with the police force to search for graves. She finally admitted that she had sold the dogs on craigslist 24 hrs after she had taken them into her care. She had lied about everything on her foster application and her family had helped her. Finally after hours of back and forth she released an address and we were able to locate Tammy. A young couple had bought her and they agreed to fill out an adoption application and allow us to keep in contact to make sure she finished her vaccines, microchip, and spay. Two weeks later they called. They had realized they just weren't ready for a puppy. So Tammy came back to AARF. Tina was never located.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.
AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
