Cyrus Journal:
5.27.21 - (entered by Cyrus) - I had a play date yesterday. It was so much fun. Her name is Piper and she is a rescue too! Her mommy gave her a forever home and she is sooo happy. She wrestled and ran and bounced around with me. It was awesome. The dogs I live with are older and they don't like to play and wrestle like I got to do with Piper. Piper can jump sooo high! I wish I could jump that high. Her mommy promised she could come back and play with me again. I can't wait! My foster mom took some pictures and video of our play date. Best Day Ever!
5.24.21 - Cyrus isn't a big fan of not being able to play in the backyard because of all the rain. He is super bored of being inside. His foster dad got a new smoker/grill and so he had a lot of fun playing with the cardboard box. He felt like quiet the super sleuth sneaking in to grab discarded cardboard and running away like a bandit... only to return a few minutes later for more.
5.20.21 - Cyrus has decided that his favorite thing is to play chase with the little boy who lives here. He has also taken a special interest in helping me move around the empty plastic pots on the back patio. He thinks they make an awesome noise when throwing them around. He is also a big fan of chewing on paper, no need for a paper shredder - Cyrus will take care of it. Check out the new pic posted of his foster dog family - they all like to sleep next to my desk during the day while I'm working. Please contact if you're interested in bringing this little guy home.
Cyrus and his siblings were surrendered when his owner lost her home. Lucky for us because we get to find great homes for these great puppies. Mom Carley is a Labrador Retriever/American Pitbull mix. Dad was a Shepherd/Husky/American Pitbull mix.
Cyrus is sweet as pie, eager to please and intelligent. He has a wonderful temperment, smiles all the time, isn't mouthy and is not overly vocal. He is easy to redirect and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement. He loves kids, other dogs and cats. He walks on a leash (harness style) and is well on his way to figuring out potty training. I can't say enough wonderful things about this pup. He has been a pleasure to have in our home. Sweet, cute and eager to learn.
Cyrus is looking for a forever home! Will that be you?
Puppies that are under 4 months old cannot be adopted outside of our Veterinary Service area. Please call for specific locations.
Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs. In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children.
Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.
AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
