Sonya is a minature schnauzer/yorkie mix, better known as a Snorkie. Her est dob is May 2009. She is a quiet, lap dog. She is very content to lie next to you while you watch tv. She sleeps at your feet at night. She is house trained with a doggy door and knows to use a puppy pad if she can't get outside. She is a little protective of her food with other dogs but will let a person take her food without an incident. She likes to go for car rides.

She is heartworm positive and will need to go for heartworm treatment. After speaking with the vet, it would be better if she goes to her new home and gets settled in and then gets treated, instead of being in a foster home environment with 15 other dogs. She is so laid back and quiet that there should not be any issues with her treatment.

The $200 adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, vet check, de-worming, rabies, spay and microchip. There is a $10.99 fee to Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.

You can apply online by clicking on Application. Thank you for considering a rescue!

Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
