Emilee is a hound / lab mix.  Her estimated dob is 4/2009.  Emilee used to have a mom and dad that said they loved her very much.  She had been part of their family since she was 8 wks old and even slept in bed with them.  But then they had a baby and moved in with relatives and Emilee was made to live in the backyard all of the time. 

When it got so cold in Feb 2011, Emilee's dad asked if she could stay with foster mom for 2 weeks since she would have been made to stay outside with no shelter in the severe cold.   When the weather got warmer, her family never came to get her.  But don't stay sad for Emilee because now she has a chance to have a family that really loves her!  Emilee is a wonderful dog who is very active and loves to play with toys - especially tennis balls.  She is happiest when she has a ball in her mouth and that is always the first thing she looks for when she goes outside.  She loves to retrieve the ball and will bring it back to you every time so that you can throw it again and again.  But she also loves to sit by your side and be petted and loved on.  She really is such a sweet, fun girl!!  She gets along fine with other dogs and should be fine with cats also.  She does fine on a leash and is always excited to go for a walk.  Emilee is cratetrained and housetrained.

Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
