DOT is a bashful little girl when she first meets you. Next thing you know, she will be clamoring to be on your lap, then licking your face! She is full of puppy energy, playing with toys, chasing balls and running around sniffing everything. At the end of the day, she's ready for some quality snuggle time.
Dot prefers you to be in the same room while she plays with her toys. Her favorite toys are balls! She will run and chase them, but can't quite catch them, YET.
Dot is used to being around bigger dogs. She may be on the small side for now, but she has a big personality and doesn't let them push her around.
Dot is not yet house- or kennel-trained, but she is learning. She is learning to "go" on potty pads, but still has accidents.
Dot's mom Amaya was found heavily pregnant in a park that is notorious for dumped dogs. A foster was found in the nick of time, right before Amaya had her 9 pups. Because of her pregnancy and delivery, Amaya's health issues couldn't be addressed and were passed to the pups. Dot was exposed to Parvo, fleas and bacterial and fungal infections; but has since fully recovered.
Dot's brothers and mom Amaya are currently available for adoption too! Amaya is currently in boarding and would love either a FOSTER or FOREVER home.
Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.
AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
