Sophie is a beautiful little girl with a sweet personality. That is, until her older foster brothers start playing with her! She may be small, but she's a spitfire. Her favorite game right now is to run under the bed, then wait until they try to find her and then POUNCE!
Sophie likes you to be in the same room while she plays with her toys. She will let you know when she wants to be held (or not) and snuggled. Her favorite toys are currently balls and stuffed animals. She hasn't quite figured out squeaky toys yet, but she listens intently when you squeak them.
Sophie is not yet house- or kennel-trained, but she is learning. She is learning to "go" on potty pads, but still has accidents.
Sophie's mom Amaya was found heavily pregnant in a park that is notorious for dumped dogs. A foster was found in the nick of time, right before Amaya had her 9 pups. Because of her pregnancy and delivery, Amaya's health issues couldn't be addressed and were passed to the pups.
Sophie was exposed to Parvo, fleas and bacterial and fungal infections. Sophie has fully recovered and is just waiting for her beautiful fur to fill in.
Sophie's brothers, sisters, and mom Amaya are currently available for adoption too! Amaya is currently in boarding and would love either a FOSTER or FOREVER home.
Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
