Bryce is a gorgeous Anatolian Shepherd (possibly mixed, but not sure). He will need a home with a family that understands the breed and is dedicated to training. Not appropriate for apartments. Bryce will need space to run and lots of excercise. Please know and understand this breed if you are considering adoption. Please visit a few links on the breed like this one (but there are many good sites). http://www.petguide.com/breeds/dog/anatolian-shepherd-dog/. Anatolian shepherds are alpha dogs and Bryce has exhibited this personality since he was 4 weeks old. That is why he will need an experienced owner that is familiar with alpha breeds. This is not a puppy for a first pet. Anatolian shepherds do well in packs as long as the rest of the pack is submissive. The breed also tends to be wanderers and a good 6 foot fence will be needed. Please consider these qualities if you are applying for adoption for Bryce.
Bryce is a very good baby. He listens well and hits the pee pads 99% of the time. We are working on outside potty training, but not there yet. When I have taken him outside, he listens well to boundaries and limitations and follows me everywhere. We have started leash training and have been on daily walks since 4/23. He is already massive at a bit over 3 months. I can hardly carry him anymore! We are working on puppy biting which is normal for this age. Bryce would not be a good match for anyone with small children, simply because he is a very large puppy and could easily hurt a small child without meaning too.
Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue!

The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip.
Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old.
It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.
AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
